Heart Disease Secrets Revealed. How to Save Your Life from Heart Disease, Quacks And Doctors. A Self Help Guide Without Drugs & Surgery.
Raynaud’s disease is a disorder of the blood vessels that supply blood to the skin. This condition causes the fingers, toes and occasionally the ears, nose, tongue, knees and nipples to feel cold and numb.
A typical Raynaud’s attack occurs in stages and may appear as follows:
The part of the body first affected becomes white as a result of the reduction in blood supply; next, the appearance of a blue tinge occurs as oxygen becomes depleted in the area red indicates that the blood supply has returned to normal.
It should be noted that while the above experience is considered typical, not every person with Raynaud’s disease experiences these changes nor do they happen in every attack.
The origin of Raynaud’s disease remains unknown, although, some theories say that an antibody immune response may be involved. This is supported by the fact that patients with Raynaud’s have abnormal immunologic test results.
Other theories for Raynaud’s disease talk about vascular hyperactivity that is caused by cold temperatures or emotional stress. However, the question of why the blood vessels overreact remains unanswered.
To learn more about Raynaud’s it is useful to first gain an understanding of the way that the body conserves heat and what happens when it is faced with a change in temperature…
Your body, to keep itself warm, reduces blood circulation to the fingers and toes. How? It achieves this by narrowing the small arteries under the skin of the extremities. This is a normal response but people suffering with Raynaud’s disease become extremely sensitive to cold and the arteries that go to their fingers and toes go into “vasospasm”.
Because exposure to cold temperatures can have a dramatic impact on sufferers simple things like washing hands with cold water, taking something out of the freezer or coming in contact with a cold wind may trigger an attack. In some people a stressful event is enough to provoke a Raynaud’s attack.
Types of Raynaud’s Disease
Primary Raynaud’s This happens when there is no other underlying condition associated with the disorder and most commonly affects the hands and feet.
Raynaud’s Phenomenon This is also known as Secondary Raynaud’s and is a condition often associated with autoimmune diseases or connective tissue disorders such as scleroderma, systemic lupus, polymyositis, Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Symptoms of Raynaud’s Disease
Common Raynaud’s disease symptoms include color changes in the skin and numbness and pain due to the decreased flow of blood. A tingling feeling, swelling and pain may occur as circulation improves.
Raynaud’s Phenomenon could damage your skin and the soft connective tissues in the affected area.
Additionally, ulcers and blisters may develop, become infected and take some time to heal. Severe cases can lead to gangrene and the loss of a finger.
Raynaud’s attacks may affect one or two fingers or toes and the affected digits can be different every time. Even though Raynaud’s Phenomenon is not a life threatening disease, severe cases cause disability and attacks may grow more severe.
The main goal of Raynaud’s disease treatment is to prevent or reduce the number and severity of the attacks; the secondary goal is to prevent tissue damage. With respect to medication there are some drugs the doctor may prescribe to dilate blood vessels and improve circulation, however, these drugs are not specific to Raynaud’s disease and many of them have side effects.Tip! Tip! An individual must follow a diabetic diet program. Not being on the proper diet can be a great factor in acquiring type 2 diabetes.
In our days diabetes becomes a big problem even when patients are given insulin and stay on strict diets. In many countries it is a considered to be an occasion of social concern, so developing new drugs and therapies effective in diabetes therapy is a crucial target.Tip! 8 million African Americans have diabetes.
Under these circumstances, the new discovery of a scientific team at John Hopkins institute regarding a possible new approach to fight diabetes is very important and welcomed by medical world.
The subject of investigations was a protein called GCN5. Recent studies revealed that this protein is very important for keeping under control a domino-like cascade of molecular facts that generate free discharge of sugar from liver cells directly into the bloodstream.
Critical conditions like obesity and diabetes are a consequences of the body inability to properly control the blood sugar levels. It is a fact that patients having type 1 or type 2 diabetes have high blood sugar levels and this condition can lead to severe complications like kidney failure, blindness and nerve damage.
The new approach of this scientific team is to lower blood sugar levels by controlling the release of sugar by liver cells. Introducing the protein GCN5 in diabetes patients’ liver, it can in fact induce a decrease of blood glucose levels. The conclusion of the study was that changing GCN5 status in sufferers liver is sufficient to control the sugar balanceTip! A horrifying and fascinating disease is affecting thousands of people in the Bay Area, along the Gulf Coast, Florida and throughout the world. The disease is called Morgellons, and no one knows what causes it or if it’s even a real skin disorder. People with weird symptoms with no alternatives available at the moment find comfort and a diagnosis on the Internet. After more than a year of pressure from patients convinced they have Morgellons, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will begin investigating the ailment for the first time and determine, once and for all, whether the Morgellons disease exists. How To Prevent-Even Cure Heart Disease. How to prevent-even cure Heart Disease-without drugs or surgery.
It was named 2002 by Mary Leitao in McMurray, Pa. Leitao named the condition Morgellons Disease, after a disease with similar symptoms mentioned in a 16th-century medical text, while investigating a skin condition on her then two year old son. Nobody had every heard about it before then. Till this day, few doctors have heard of the condition; fewer still know what to make of it. Most in the medical community dismiss it as a hoax, scabies, Lyme disease or a mental condition called Delusional Parasitosis. Delusional Parasitosis is a mistaken belief that one is being infested by parasites such as mites, lice, fleas, spiders, worms, bacteria, or other organisms.
Most victims with this skin disease report painful crawling, stinging, and biting sensations, as well as non-healing skin lesions, which are associated with fiber like or filamentous structures. Victims as well have reported the presence of seed-like granules and black speck-like material above and in their lesions. The reaction of medical professionals has made a difficult situation even harder for victims. Dermatologists claim the filaments are all delusions, although none had taken the time to even study them.Tip! Oklahoma State University Professor Randy Wymore was the first scientist to conduct research on this skin disease. He says it’s the biggest mystery he’s ever been involved in. Wymore says his tests rule out not only textile fibers, but also worms, insects, animal material and even human skin and hair. He says the filaments are not an external contamination. Instead, they are a substance that materializes somehow inside the body, apparent artifacts of something infectious. If no more medical professionals take the time to study this, we may never know the truth as it continues to spread.Breakthrough Crohn’s Disease Guide.

Tip! Gene Therapy This is a revolutionary and experimental form of Mesothelioma treatment. It consists of a genetically and manufactured virus to counter the effects of the disease, ,repair the damage and stop the progression.
Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that attacks the lining of the abdomen, lungs or the chest cavity, which is caused due to exposure to asbestos. This tumor has a long hibernation period and is often diagnosed 30-50 years after the exposure. Though currently no treatment is available for curing this disease, a timely diagnosis (depending upon the size of the tumor), may contribute in to improve the patients’ quality of life.
In some cases of early diagnosis, the treatments can result in extending the life of victim up to five years, in comparison to the normal lifespan of one year for a mesothelioma patient. While the current survival rate for mesothelioma patients is low, new treatments are in development with better affordability for a common man, and some show great promise. Radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and/or surgery are the most common options available today for the treatment of mesothelioma.
The cost incurred in overall treatment of this tumor is almost the same as the cost involved in the treatment of other tumors. The affected will have to go through many phases of the radiation therapy and the intensity of the treatment depends on the age of the person, the tumor’s size and its level of spread. It is difficult to determine exact cost for the treatment since there is variability in treatment plans, but usually cancer treatments can cost many thousands of dollars per month. This can be multifold if the tumor intensifies or the speed of spread is devastating.Tip! Heated intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy, a procedure developed by Paul Sugarbaker at the Washington Cancer Institute is a breakthrough in Mesothelioma treatment. He is able to remove a larger amount of tumor by the direct administration of a chemotherapy agent in the abdomen.
Overall, cancer treatment, including mesothelioma treatment, costs over $40 billion in the US each year. Typically, for one who has already been victimized by this dreadful disease, the treatment costs can prove to be very expensive. If one has been diagnosed and is suffering from mesothelioma, it is advisable to consult a mesothelioma lawyer, who can guide him as to his legal rights and how one can recover compensation from the party responsible for the exposure to asbestos. An expert lawyer can help recover compensation for bills, lost wages, and punitive damages, which can go up to millions of dollars.

Mesothelioma Pleural is a lethal cancer that initially affects the thin membrane enveloping the lungs. This affliction is mostly caused by exposure to asbestos. Currently about 3000 cases are reported in the United States every year. But according to reliable estimates, nearly 8 million people have been exposed to asbestos during the past fifty years and about .3 million new cases would turn up by 2030. Higher rate of incidence is noted in the Pacific and Mid-Atlantic States.
The disease is almost always fatal. If it is detected early, surgery could be helpful. But the problem is that Mesothelioma Pleural has a long latent period of 20 to 40 years or more and by the time it is diagnosed the cancer would be usually in an advanced stage. There is no universally accepted line of treatment as of now. Chemotherapy is not considered effective. Several combination therapies are tried.
Radiation may be of use, particularly as a palliative measure. Here the problem is that since mesothelioma is resistant to radiation, high doses have to be applied. This, not only kill the cancerous cells but also the good ones. To overcome the difficulty, many doctors who treat mesothelioma pleural patients are employing a century old procedure known as Brachytherapy, which was being, and still is, used for treatment of certain other cancers.Tip! A number of people are of the opinion that Chrysotile is a safe form of asbestos. But researches have shown that all forms of asbestos including the largely used Chrysotile are effective in causing Mesothelioma and other ARDs like lung cancer, asbestosis etc.
Brachytherapy today is a high-tech and precise form of radiation. It is a process applied internally instead of through a gadget outside the body. Radioactive sources (sealed in needles, catheters, seeds or wires) are planted on the tumor or very close to it. By this process the radiation is focused on the bad cells and therefore spares the good ones. This has been found to be effective.
Like all radiation, Brachytherapy also has side effects. But they are minor ones like short duration soreness in the area where the procedure is done. There is nothing to worry about if the patient follows the doctor’s instructions.Tip! The next important thing hovering on people’s mind related to mesothelioma is smoking. Some believe that smoking invokes this disease.

Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma is a lethal cancer that starts in the lining of the lungs. The main cause is believed to be unprotected contact with asbestos. Every year about 3000 new cases of this disease are reported in the United States. It is estimated that over the past fifty years nearly eight million people have been exposed to asbestos and that 300,000 new cases would be reported by the year 2030. The peak may be around 2020 and thereafter the incidence is likely to taper down because of the preventive measures that are being taken.
Like in all cases of cancer, early detection and appropriate treatment improve the survival rate. On both counts the pleural mesothelioma patients are at a disadvantage. Symptoms take anywhere between 20 to 50 years to manifest. Because of this, the patients are generally in the fifty plus age group. And the outwardly noticed indications of the sickness are similar to that of several lesser ailments. This makes the diagnosis difficult. Because of all these, by the time the problem is detected, the cancer is likely to have spread. As yet there is no fully effective line of treatment. It is generally accepted that a combination therapy is better than monotherapy. A great deal of research is being done in this area.Tip! One universally known myth is that nothing can be done after a person is in the grip of mesothelioma. Though there is no cure for this unsympathetic form of cancer, some medicines can help with lifestyle quality and symptoms.
A number of studies have been made about the survival rate among pleural mesothelioma patients. They all come to the same conclusion - the disease is almost always fatal. The lifespan of a person diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma is about six months to two years. There have been exceptions and their stories are inspiring. The life expectancy varies according to the stage (pleural mesothelioma has four different phases) and the type. One research based on the histologic (tissue structure)tests shows a median survival of 11 months - 9.4 months for sarcomatous, 12.5 months for epithelial and 11 months for mixed.Tip! Pleural Mesothelioma is the most common form of Mesothelioma. It starts in the chest cavity (after breathing the particles) before spreading to other areas.

Tip! Research all you can concerning mesothelioma. The more you understand the disease affecting you or a loved one, the better you will be able to judge a lawyer’s expertise.
Majority of mesothelioma (cancerous tumor affecting mesothelial cells of organs) cases come under the classification pleural mesothelioma’. This is a cancer that originates in the pleura, the delicate membrane covering the lungs. Out of these, seventy five percent are diffuse malignant pleural mesethelioma. The balance is localized or benign.
Diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma is, in most cases, caused by unprotected exposure to asbestos. The symptoms include shortness of breath and/or chest pain, loss of weight, cough, fatigue, swelling on the face, neck and arms, reduced appetite, and coughing up blood. There would be collection of fluid in the thoracic cavity. It may take from twenty to forty years or more after contact with asbestos for the symptoms to emerge. Because of the time lag, diagnosing is often difficult. Moreover, many doctors are not familiar with the disease.
Diagnostic procedure consists mostly of imaging with Computed Tomography (CT scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Position Emission Tomography (PET), and laboratory tests and analysis. Thoractomy, which means making an incision through the chest wall to look into the pleura (the membrane lining the lungs and the thoracic cavity) and pleural biopsy provide conclusive evidence.
Diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma tumor is very aggressive and spreads fast. There are several methods to gauge the stage of the cancer. The most common is known as TNM. T is for the size of the tumor, N for the number of lymph nodules involved, and M for metastasis (spread of the cancer). There are basically four different stages. Correct grading helps the doctors to decide on the course of treatment. If the affliction is detected at an early stage, the chances of longer survival are better.Tip! People commonly believe that working in mines and playing in piles where you are surrounded by asbestos and staying close to a person suffering from mesothelioma are the only factors responsible for its outbreak. But in reality, mesothelioma and any other ARD is not a communicable one and individuals who have never taken up any such tasks are even inflicted with it.
But generally the prognosis (response to treatment) is not good in diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma cases. Surgery during Stage I may help. If detected during the later phases of the cancer the survival rate is four months to twelve months. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy do not seem to improve the survival rate. The reality is that currently there is no effective curative treatment. Research is on to find new management methods and more effectual medicines.

Tip! Unhealthy aging and diseases of the body systems (such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, immune dysfunction, etc.) are MULTI-CAUSAL.
It is well known that about two-thirds of the U.S. population is either overweight or obese. The U.S. Surgeon General has stated that approximately 75% of Western diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, gout, arthritis, excess weight gain, hypertension, diabetes, some cancers, impotence, biventricular disease, constipation, heartburn, and gallbladder disease, are “lifestyle-related.” They are directly correlated with our high fat diet, inadequate amounts of exercise, smoking, high intake of caffeine, and high amounts of stress coupled with insufficient support.
Hoping to address this alarming situation, more than 20 years ago, cardiovascular epidemiologist Hans A. Diehl, DrHSc, MPH, created the Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP). Since then, this 40-hour community-based lifestyle intervention program has helped more than 40,000 people rediscover their health by preventing, arresting and reversing their diseases. It has been conducted in more than 150 North American cities as well as in Bangalore, India, Australia and Switzerland. Depending upon the needs of the group, the meetings are held either “live” with Dr. Diehl delivering the program personally (usually meeting four times per week for four weeks) or as a “video-based” program with certified CHIP facilitators (normally two times per week for eight weeks). In addition, Dr. Diehl is a best-selling author - To Your Health, Dynamic Living, and Health Power (co-authored with Aileen Ludington, M.D.) — as well as the executive editor of a 24-page quarterly Lifeline Health Letter; he has produced scores of health videos. CHIP empowers people through its scientifically-documented, educational and inspirational program that addresses common western diseases — those that used to be seen primarily later in life.Tip! The actual finding that excess weight is going epidemic leads to the conclusion that obesity must be recognized and treated as a disease with fatal complications. Most of the prevention efforts must target the young population because obese condition in children is close associated to certain high risks of developing heart disease, stroke and diabetes in later life.
Today, these diseases increasingly appear at far younger ages. CHIP may make all the difference in one’s life — even the difference between life and death.
In 1999, CHIP launched a “community health transformation template” in Rockford, Illinois, a city with a population of 130,000. The intention was to transform Rockford into the healthiest city in American, thereby enabling it to serve as a model and template for cultural transformation on a community-wide level. Recently, CHIP was recognized as just such a model by HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson and was “approved” under the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a “STEPS to a HealthierUS” applicant. In addition to “live” CHIP, a series of CHIP videos are offered through schools, churches, corporations, and hospitals. In Rockford, CHIP is sponsored by the Swedish American Health System’s Center for Complementary Medicine.
Who is the typical CHIP participant? Generally, CHIP participants are over the age of 40. Most are between the ages of 50 and 59. There are twice as many women as men, and almost 90% are married. Clinical research, published in peer review journals, has found that they have the following lifestyle diseases:
Over the course of the program, strict adherents are likely to experience significant clinical improvements such as the following:Tip! Recent developments in the biochemical study of free radical action have provided a more unified understanding of degenerative processes. It is now possible for researchers to make sense of the causation of a variety of pathological conditions, including cancer, heart disease, atherosclerosis, arthritis, Alzheimer’s and other diseases of old age, and to work towards counteracting and preventing these conditions.

Connie Thebarge’s Story
At the age of 59, Connie Thebarge, a patient at the Ottawa Heart Institute in British Columbia, Canada, was told that her doctors could no longer help her. After all, in addition to suffering from hypertension, she had diabetes and painful diabetic neuropathy. She had two heart attacks followed by a triple coronary bypass surgery and an unsuccessful angioplasty. Every day, she had to take 27 pills. Not surprisingly, she was also depressed.Tip! The researchers discovered that the 94 men with heart disease tended to have a higher serum level of the saturated fatty acid palmitic acid and stated that a high level of this acid increases the risk of CHD by 68 percent. Palmitic acid is the main saturated fatty acid in most diets.
Yet, today, more than a decade later, Thebarge walks three miles a day, swims twice a week, dances, and travels to Florida and Europe. No longer depressed, she also requires far fewer pills. How was this accomplished? Thebarge participated in CHIP and transformed her life.

Fatty liver is a condition in which fat accumulates in the liver cells. However simple fatty liver does not damage the liver. Fat accumulation in the liver can be caused by weight gain or diabetes mellitus. Fatty liver can occur with a lean diet and ailments such as tuberculosis and intestinal bypass surgery for obesity. It can also occur while certain drugs like corticosteroids. The condition is also caused by heavy alcohol use. A patient is diagnosed as having a fatty liver when fat makes up at least 10% of the liver.
Fatty food does not cause a fatty liver. It is a common condition that is seen in people who are overweight or suffer from diabetes. Explanations for a fatty liver include the transfer of fat from other parts of the body, or a spurt in the extraction of fat presented to the liver from the intestine. Another argument is that the fat accumulates because the liver is unable to change it into a form that can be removed.Tip! Get enough rest A woman with cardiac disease needs more rest than the average pregnant woman. Rest lessens the strain of the increased burden of the pregnant woman’s heart.
Fatty liver is diagnosed by eliminating the chances of chronic liver disease, particularly from alcohol abuse. Images of the liver obtained through an ultrasound test, a CT scan or a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan can diagnose a fatty liver. In an ultrasound test, a fatty liver produces a bright image in a ripple pattern. A CT scan will show a picture in which the liver will appear less dense than normal.
The treatment of fatty liver is linked with the cause. A simple fatty liver does not need treatment, because it does not damage the liver cells. Overweight patients with fatty liver will have to reduce their weight. Control of diabetes also decreases the fat content in the liver.Tip! Another condition that causes fat deposit in the liver is the nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). But, unlike a simple fatty liver, it causes damage to the liver cells. It is not linked to other causes of chronic liver disease, like hepatitis B and C viruses, autoimmune disorders, alcohol, drug toxicity, and the accumulation of copper (Wilson’s Disease) or iron (hemochromatosis).
