Natural Depression Medication With Little Or Zero
Side Effects

By : Kriti Aora
If you really want to go for natural depression medication, it's very essential to educate yourself about the available options. Today stores are full of vitamins, minerals and natural herbs, but all of them are not effective. Only scientifically proven natural depression medications produce good results.

Some natural remedies for depression -

1. St. John's Wort -

This is the most natural herb and has been used for a long time for worry, insomnia and sadness. It is effective both in mild and severe depression and has very side effects. It is very easily available. It takes about 4-6 weeks to show its full effects.

Pregnant women, children and people suffering from liver or kidney diseases should not take this medicine.

2. Valerian extract -

A number of scientific studies have proved valerian extract as a good anti-anxiety medicine. A calculated dose of valerian extract helps you to feel more relaxed. It is not addictive and takes only 30 minutes to show its effects.

3. Omega-3 fatty acids -

Omega-3 fatty acids are responsible for normal brain function. Our bodies don't generate these acids, so we have to take them from our diet. Low intake of these acids can cause depression.

Fish and fish oil are good sources of Omega-3 fatty acids. It must be stored in the fridge

4. Folic acid -

Deficiency of folic acid causes depression. Grains, fruits, green vegetables are good sources of folic acid. Studies have proved that if a person has low folate levels, he can't respond to antidepressants completely. Taking folic acid as a supplement can improve the effectiveness of drugs.

Except these some little changes in diet can reduce the symptoms of depression.

What is the Point to Meditation

Written by:CJ Lee
Unfortunately, the concept of meditation has all sorts of stereotypes linked to the notion but putting it in layman terms...what the hell is it??

There is really nothing complicated or difficult about meditation and maybe to some extent the greatest mishap has probably had a lot to do with the meaning we have all attached to the label. Labels, although useful, often have the habit of limiting the perception of what something is and it enforces ideology and pre-conceived conceptions prior to creating personal experiences. This certainly may be true when we speak of MEDITATION.

The biggest problem with the world today is our relationship with our own sense of self, or at times referred to as one's ego. Through time, the ego seems to have a life of it's own and it constantly plays images in our head that we often don't seem to have control over. These images can come in forms of imaginary movies only seen by oneself, or a repetitive notion or thought that seems to keep playing into one's ear. And as Eckhart Tolle described it best... We Humans have become lost in thought. This thought often creates illusions and beliefs that in fact don't exist in other forms of reality. In addition, with the modern world that most of us live in, we are constantly bombarded with images and sound, the moment we step outside our front doors. And often we all wonder the question.... "How can I turn all this off??"

Well, the answer comes in the form of meditation, or otherwise can be described as quietening one's mind. We all may start in different ways and through different forms, but the result inevitably is the same where one manages to switch off all distractions, thoughts etc etc and become absolutely still. Through practice and continuous appreciation of it, you begin to see that there is an air of tranquility in all things and the hectic lives that we often become stressed over seems to wrapped around an aura of tranquility or stillness. Whichever method or way you start, the thing to keep in mind is that we don't need to just set aside a time to do "meditation". Rather, it helps to transfuse this in as many pockets of time as possible throughout your day until it permeates throughout your whole day and in every facet of life.

The result to all this?? All I can say is that life doesn't quite look the same.

I have often found that most of the public fails to really understand the key issues surrounding the news around us, and generally take things at face value, rather than question what the key motives may be. Within my blog http://www.maxprofitfund.com/ my hope is that it will lead you to ask more questions and start your journey where you control your own mind rather than subjecting it to be controlled.

Breaking News: US MS Society sends out a request
internationally for grant applications to pursue the CCSVI lead

Source: National MS Society

Updated December 16, 2009

Summary: Recent reports are calling attention to the idea that a phenomenon called CCSVI, a reported abnormality in blood drainage from the brain and spinal cord, may contribute to nervous system damage in MS. This hypothesis has been put forth by Dr. Paulo Zamboni from the University of Ferrara in Italy. Based on the results of his initial preliminary findings, Dr. Zamboni states that this pilot study warrants a subsequent larger and better controlled study to definitively evaluate the possible impact of CCSVI on the disease process in MS.

It has been proposed by Dr. Zamboni, but not yet proven, that CCSVI may be corrected through endovascular surgery, which involves inserting a tiny balloon or stent into blocked veins in order to permit the flow of blood out of the brain and spinal cord, a procedure that has been called ?liberation therapy? in some reports.

The National MS Society is undertaking the funding of new research on CCSVI in MS and has invited investigators worldwide to apply for grants that would explore this lead. These applications will undergo an accelerated review process by an international panel being convened in cooperation with other MS Societies to ensure an expedited, coordinated response. If this hypothesis is confirmed, it may open up new research avenues into the underlying pathology of MS and new treatment approaches to therapy.

Background: In a recent study by Dr. Zamboni and colleagues, the team evaluated abnormalities of blood outflow in major veins draining from the brain and spinal cord to the heart in 65 people with different types of MS, compared with 235 people who were either healthy or who had other neurological disorders. They used sophisticated sonography techniques to detect abnormalities of venous drainage. The investigators reported evidence of slowed and obstructed drainage in the veins draining the brain and spinal cord in many of those with MS. They also found evidence of the opening of ?substitute circles? ? where the flow is deviated to smaller vessels to bypass obstructions, and these were often found to have reverse flow (reflux) of blood back into the brain.
