The Healthiest Meat Recipe in The World

The ancient Egyptians had left to us the healthiest recipe in the world.

It is the healthiest recipe in the world for the following reasons:
1- It uses absolutely no fats, and the fat present in this recipe's type of meat offers you % 5 of your daily needs of calories,% 18 of your daily fat intake, and % 22 of total daily intake of saturated fats.
2- It uses no frying, thus avoiding heat induced trans-fats.
3- It uses no direct flame for grilling meat, thus avoiding carcinogens formed during barbecuing meat.
4- Although it is a big protein meal, it affords you only %6 of your carbohydrates daily intake, and %15 of your total moderate Calorie intake( 255 Calories/day).
5- It is optimal meal for diabetics, as it offers them high nutritive value and at the same time it lowers their blood sugar, thus leaving a room for many other meals through the day.
6- It offers dieting people a great advantage over any other meal, that is, its marvelous taste, so that they don't trade pain gain for weight loss.
7- it is easily digested by all people categories, moreover, it offers them %10 of their daily needs of dietary fibers.
8- The standard recipe is so simple, so that it can be widely diversified to meet different taste preferences or specific health needs.

Over time, the subsequent generations made their fine touches yet the basic formula still the same. As the Mediterranean tradition, we used to eat it with bread or rice, it tastes unheavenly. We follow it with wonderful black tea.

Too good to be true? you judge for yourself and here is the recipe:
- 1/2 kg veal steak.
- 1/2 kg Onions ( 5-6 medium sized onions).
- 1/2 black pepper ( ground).
You can add 1-2 Potatoes and if you prefer hot chilies, add 1 fruit.

1- Cut the meat into small pieces after removing any fat associating it,and cut the onions ( and Potatoes if you incorporated it) into slices.
2- Put the plant(s) into one layer in the bottom of a pan, and put the meat over this layer, if you doubled the amounts, make many successive layers in this sequence.
3- Distribute the black pepper together with v. little salt on the surface.
4- Cover the pan with an Aluminum or copper sheet(foil) and then put the cover of the pan over this sheet. Put an Iron weight over the cover.
5- Put the pan on a medium flame in your gas stove for 10-12 minutes (Do not overcook).
6- Put the pan on the least flame you can get from your stove ( the small flame is just illuminating).
7- Leave it for 90-120 minutes ( after 90 minutes you can begin checking it using a spoon, but take care, every thing is very hot, wear your gloves).

This is sufficient for 3 servings, but don't eat too much if you have esophageal reflux. The calculations are made on the inclusion of the first 3 ingredients.

Enjoy your family.

High blood pressure during exercise: dangerous

People with normal resting blood pressures who develop very high blood pressure during exercise are the ones most likely to develop high blood pressure later on. These people have arteries that do not expand as much as normal arteries when blood is pumped to them. When your heart beats, it squeezes blood from inside its chambers to the large arteries. This causes normal arteries to expand like balloons. If the arteries do not expand enough when blood enters them, blood pressure can rise very high.

Normal blood pressure is 120 when the heart contracts and 80 when it relaxes. During exercise, the heart beats with increased force to raise blood pressure. It is normal for blood pressure to rise up to 200 over 80 during running, and to 300 over 200 while doing a leg press with very heavy weights. If your blood pressure rises much above 200 during running, you are at increased risk for developing high blood pressure. You should go on a heart attack prevention program that includes a diet low in saturated fats and refined carbohydrates, regular exercise, losing weight if you are overweight, not smoking, and avoiding stimulants and drugs that raise blood pressure. Check with your doctor.

Babystep #12 — Eat fish once (or twice) per
week

I recently blogged about fish, so I feel bad writing about it again so soon. However, it needs to be included in the list of babysteps. Later the pages of babysteps will still remain on my blog for newcomers to see. If you just read about the importance of fish, bear with [...]

Evidence stacks up in favor of exercise

Filed under: Prevention, All Cancers, Daily news, Cancer Survivors

The evidence is stacking up. And it seems almost everyone will soon agree that exercising can help prevent a return of cancer for those who have already done battle with the disease.

The American Cancer Society just issued a report updating nutrition and physical activity recommendations for cancer survivors. Exercise tops the list of recommendations.

For some types of cancers, exercising for just one to three hours per week can lower the risk of cancer recurrence and death, as well as death from all causes. Exercise has also been shown to improve fitness, diminish fatigue, and boost quality of life for survivors.

The report also states that while a vegetarian diet may be healthful in some ways, there is no direct proof that the diet can prevent cancer recurrence. Survivors who do choose a vegetarian lifestyle should ensure they are receiving an adequate intake of nutrients.

A standard multivitamin and mineral supplement equivalent to 100 percent of the Daily Value can help survivors meet their nutrient needs when it's difficult to eat a healthy diet. Some supplements -- such as those high in folic acid or antioxidants -- may be harmful during cancer treatment.

According to the American Cancer Society, food safety is especially important for cancer survivors, especially during treatment that causes immunosuppression.

And then there's alcohol. Alcohol can affect the risk for new primary cancers and should be used sparingly -- or not at all.

Abortion drug blocks breast cancer gene

Filed under: Breast Cancer, Drug, Research, Daily news

No one is suggesting women use the abortion pill RU-486 to keep a well-known breast cancer gene from doing its dirty work, but scientists have successfully used this pill to keep tumors at bay in mice bred with the BRCA1 gene. And while this breakthrough may not benefit the human population just yet, it does indicate there may be something on the horizon to help women who carry the gene and are destined to develop breast cancer.

The BRCA1 gene spurs the sex hormone progesterone that RU-486 happens to block. If researchers could create a safer hormone blocker, it may offer an alternative for women with the bad gene. Today, there are just a few options for these women -- and all of them are anxiety-producing.

Currently, women can receive more frequent cancer screenings to catch cancer in its earliest form, remove both breasts while they are still healthy, take the hormone-blocking drug Tamoxifen, and remove the ovaries to cut the risk of both breast and ovarian cancers. A better option is necessary for women faced with an almost certainty of developing cancer.

The deputy chief medical officer for the American Cancer Society calls this study elegant research. But he stresses that "it would not be appropriate in any way, shape or form that women start taking RU-486 for this purpose." Long-term use of this abortion drug can cause other side effects, including immune system suppression.

Cancer specialists applaud this development. Yet they caution women to not get their hopes up yet. They say this is an avenue worth pursuing on a research level. But it's clearly too soon to start recommending use of an agent like RU-486 for breast cancer prevention.
